Alaska Halibut: All Season
Halibut fishing trips are super popular and add a great mix to our freswater fishing trips. Halibut are great game fish: they don’t nibble, they CHOMP! Better yet, they are incredibly tasty and really powerful. Your rod could easily be pinned to the side of the boat with any halibut over 30 pounds and when you hook a lunker, hold on tight!!! Current regulations are 2 halibut: 1 any size and 1 under 28”.. Note, Halibut charter fishing is closed in our area Tuesdays and Wednesdays for most of the summer.
Rockfish and Lingcod fishing in Alaska is as good as it gets! Lingcod are very aggressive game fish and range from 25-50 plus pounds. While rockfish are smaller, they are super easy and fun top catch. Seward and Homer have stunning scenery, are easy to reach from the lodge, and offer some of the finest halibut, lingcod, and saltwater salmon combo fishing trips in Alaska. Lingcod trips often require booking 6 or more months in advanced since most captains no loner offer lingcod specific charters and the few that do get booked up quickly.
