Silver salmon fishing at Alaska Legacy Lodge has been good and steady since the end of the first week of August. We’ve used a combination of techniques including spinners, floats, and plugs to make things happen and maximize our success. Eight year old, Max, consistently slayed nice silvers on spinners with his father and grandfather.
Alaska king salmon fishing has been good this season especially here on the Kenai Peninsula. The Kenai River has a solid first run of king salmon and has had little pressure providing our guests with steady action most days with good water conditions. As a result of good numbers of larger king salmon the ADF&G recently liberalized the size limit from under 36″ to 46″. Meanwhile the Kasilof River and our coastal rivers are also providing consistent catches indicating strong returns as well. Here’s some photos of some of our recent catches:
